Built a cloud platform team of 5. Owner of production AWS EKS platform. Cut infrastructure spend ~25%. classdojo.com API at 99.999% HTTP 2xx over 30 days in back-to-school 2026. ~75 deploys a day; test suite from 12k to 65k tests while CI time went down by 50%. Hundreds of internal apps on the platform. About half the week still hands-on architecture and engineering.
YC S19. Built KubeSail, a self-hosting platform, and the PiBox — a Raspberry Pi Kubernetes/NAS appliance. $200k Kickstarter. Designed the hardware and the hosted Kubernetes product. Nights and weekends from Nov 2022 after joining ClassDojo; sunset hosted services in 2025.
Transformed RunKit's reliability engineering from prototype to enterprise-ready. Built a “remote-code-execution-as-a-service” platform secure enough for Stripe. TC39 delegate (RunKit / Stripe).
Part of a very small team with extremely high traffic (top-10 site, 3-person SRE team). Rearchitected several internet-facing apps to improve reliability and performance. Reduced p99 latency by a factor of 10. Dramatic optimization, upgrade, and migration of extremely busy MySQL datastores with no downtime.
On-call for messaging systems used by large healthcare providers and hospitals. The product's reliability was mission critical. Chef, Erlang, AWS, and an extremely robust CI/CD chain.
